After completing postgraduate training in Malaysia , the UK and Australia , Sam spent the last 10 years as a full time Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist at the Joan Kirner Hospital , Western Health caring for women from the western suburbs and surrounds areas.
Dr Mathew brings extensive international and Australian experience, coupled with skill and compassion to clinical care. He is a supervisor for trainee surgeons and until recently led a large unit at Western Health as the Head of Gynaecology. He has completed the Masters in Reproductive Medicine from the University of New South Wales . He has a special interest in minimally invasive surgery and Operative Obstetrics.
His other commitments in public service include as a visiting consultant to the Bass Coast Hospital at Wonthaggi.
In his spare time, he enjoys hiking , cycling and soccer. He has operating rights at Western Private, Epworth Freemasons, Frances Perry House and St Vincent’s Private hospital.
